A Little About The Patent Agent Examination

The Patent Agent Examination is conducted by the Indian Patent Office to identify a select few professionals as Patent Agents. Science & Engineering graduates – Bachelors, Masters & even Ph.Ds – are eligible to appear for this exam.

The number of Patents being filed in India is going up and this is only going to get better.  As a result, the demand for Patent Agents is on the rise – because only a Patent Agent can file a patent.

The Patent Agent Examination is not conducted every year in India. The last exam was conducted in 2018 and the next one is going to be conducted in 2020. If the Indian Patent Office selects too many Patent Agents in 2020, then there may not be an exam for several years – you never know! Our advice would be to consider this as a great opportunity, register for the Patent Agent Exam before the 25th of March 2020 and give it your best shot. We wish you the very best!

You may read more about the Patent Agent Examination on our Patent Agent Exam Courses page.
